But, I suspect Phantasy Star Online 2 is not even on the radar for a lot of people; it came out in 2012 for JP, and Phantasy Star Online 2 Meseta we got radio jumps on the EN model for the next 6-7 decades. Possessing a large page advertisement on each of the significant platforms will truly help Phantasy Star Online 2 achieve people. I do not disagree with your point that people's loyalty to a storefront that is specific is pretty childish.

It'll get by, I don't think it's gonna become a strike or anything. PSO has never felt like more than a cult and it not being a new game does not help build excitement. 8 years back there was still a active Blue Burst community and also the latest sequel was only a couple years old not a decade back so there was more brand recognition. Now it dropping on an audience out of nowhere.

Anecdotally it is also not super welcoming to fresh Phantasy Star Online 2 gamers however - at least among those folks I got to play it felt perplexed and frustrated early on and stop within a few weeks. They complained there weren't apparent EN server that was enough or enough tutorials build guides yet. It required lots of convincing for one to pick up it and recognize it all clicks eventually, the other won't return.

"Anecdotally it is also not super welcoming to fresh Phantasy Star Online 2 gamers yet - at least both of the people I got to play it felt confused and frustrated early on and stop within a couple weeks." That's the biggest problem but folks seem to dismiss it, specially crafting and the heaps (which isn't an exaggeration) of currencies, it's a clusterfuck of things that has not been streamlined. I have seen people leave Phantasy Star Online 2 because they couldn't"fix" their own mags or ability tree. If the server lasts for more than 3 years, I will be amazed.

I think PSO2 has the potential. However, the decision to release on Xbox Only, which is the console with the tiniest install base at this time, and dispersing Phantasy Star Online 2 through the Windows store simply is gonna hurt the amounts that it could have potentially reached. Literally nobody checks the windows shop on a regular basis to learn what's new. People use Steam for that. I think that it will have an adequate audience, and if they continue expending to meseta pso2 more platforms, then it should be healthy for a while.
